As you may have read in the Home Affairs magazine, council tenants across the borough have now had a say on how they want their homes and estates managed in the future and have agreed a series of local offers with the council.

New build council homes 2010 -12

Exciting plans to build 72 council homes over five sites in Dudley have been given the go ahead. Dudley has secured £4.3millon from the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) to part fund the first council homes in the borough fo 20 years.

Planning applications have now been approved. Contractors are now on site and it is our aim to have all schemes completed by February 2012. New build council homes 2010-12

We offer homeowners and private rental tenants assistance with home repairs, improvements and adaptations. We can help with finding suitable finance, grants and benefits and offer a complete project management service for your building works or repairs.

Housing options in Dudley Borough

A new Housing Options Service has been launched offering general advice on a wide range of options for renting and buying property. Staff will also be able to refer customers to specialist services such as mediation, debt prevention and home improvements and adaptations that can support people to stay in their existing homes.

If you are looking for housing in the Dudley borough one option is rented accomodation. The Dudley at Home website lists properties that are available from Dudley Council and other registered social landlords.

When a property becomes available it is advertised on the Dudley at Home website and published in a list that can be picked up from libraries, housing offices and Dudley Council Plus. Properties can also be viewed on Digi TV.

New Dudley energy advice line

A new energy advice line service has been launched - to advise homeowners and private tenants on reducing their fuel bills and making their homes more energy efficient.

Help to downsize

Dudley Council housing tenants are being offered help to move, if they want to downsize their home. The new scheme is aimed at single tenants and couples who find they are living in a property which is now too large for their needs, or too hard to maintain. Tenants wanting to downsize properties information

Do you have a spare room?

Dudley Council is supporting the YMCA Open Door campaign to recruit families in the Dudley borough who can offer a temporary home to a young person in need.  The temporary accommodation could be for a few nights or on a longer term basis.

Families will be given a full support package and over £100 each week.
