Applying for a Council Home

As a landlord, we are committed to providing our customers with an efficient housing service. We aim to meet minimum service standards such as providing you with an accessible service, treating all applicants and tenants equally and fairly, in line with our lettings policy and dealing with enquiries promptly.

To apply for housing, please click with your mouse on the appropriate form link below. Tenants of Dudley Council will need to complete an Application To Transfer, whereas non Council tenants will need to complete an Application For Housing. If your health is affected by your current housing circumstances you can apply to move on medical grounds, please click on the related guide below for further information and complete the Medical Assessment Application, if you also need to move to accommodation that is adapted for your disability needs please complete the Disabled Person's Housing Register Application.

How properties are allocated

Properties are allocated on a housing needs basis. Housing need is determined via a points based system. Please refer to our lettings policy for further information,

However the way people apply for a rented home in the Dudley borough is changing. Dudley at Home is currently running as a pilot scheme for properties in the Halesowen and Stourbridge areas and will be rolled out to the rest of the borough during 2008.

During the pilot properties in the Halesowen and Stourbridge areas will be advertised as part of Dudley at Home and people need to use the new system for those properties. In all other parts of the borough properties will be allocated under the present scheme. All properties will be part of Dudley at Home when the system is rolled out across the borough sometime during 2008.
