Direct Debit
Paying through your bank, either by direct debit or by standing order, is one of the easiest and most convenient ways to pay your rent, garage or contents insurance.
Paying through your bank means:

Quarterly statements from us to provide an update on your account
You can now set up your Direct Debit over the telephone - all you need is your payment reference number and your bank account details and we will do the rest.
How to apply
Online Housing Payments
To make a payment online you will need either a debit or credit card and information relating to your payment, such as a rent account reference number. Your online payment will go straight to the council - no third parties are involved.
By Telephone
Pay over the telephone using our Automated Call Pay service on 0300 555 7000. Alternatively call Dudley Council Plus on 0300 555 2345 to speak to an advisor.
Please have your account number and your credit card or debit card number ready when you call.
Over the Counter
You can pay in person at your local housing office, local Post Office as well as hundreds of retailers in the borough where you can see the PayPoint or Payzone signs. All you need is one of the payment cards on the right.
If you use the plastic payment card, your payments will be allocated in a cascade order; first to your rent account, secondly to your garage account.
To make payments directly to a specific account (insurance, garage or rent), please order a bar coded payment card for each account type. Payments will be made directly to that account. You must use the bar coded card for insurance payments.

By Post
This applies to rent, insurance premiums, court costs, housing benefit accounts, garage rent and any former accounts.
Simply send a cheque or postal order made payable to Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council to:

Please record your address and rent account number on the back of the cheque. In the interest of security do not send cash in the post. Receipts will only be issued upon request.
Rent Cards/Calendar
Rent cards are no longer issued as a receipting document. If you to choose to pay in person, you will be given a receipt each time you pay. Please keep this receipt as proof of payment.
All tenants are provided with a payment calendar. This calendar can be used by tenants to keep a record of payments made by themselves. It is not intended as a receipting document.
