Getting Involved

Talking to participants

Tenant participation is thriving in Dudley. We use various methods to give tenants the opportunity to become involved in the decisions which affect them and their community. We have a Tenant Participation Strategy and a specific Tenant Participation Agreement in place which recognises local service priorities between tenants and the Council and we actively encourage our service users to participate in helping to monitor this agreement.

In 2002 we established five Area housing panels, made up of 5 tenants and 5 councillors (per area), to enable us to consult with our cutomers and make informed decisions in relation to the housing service at a local level.

We also have currently over 30 active tenant and residents associations and they are supported by the Council and the Dudley Federation of Tenants and Residents Associations, an independent umbrella organisation.

The Participation Development Team has been set up to specificaly encourage and mantain a high level of tenant involvement.
