Your Chance to Get Involved

Friendship Morning

'Have a Say'

The Participation Development Teams, Diversity Development Officer, Kim Avantaggiato is focusing on engaging people from across Dudley’s ever more diverse neighbourhoods and is encouraging those people who would not normally get involved to come along and 'have a say'.

New and established participation methods are designed so that members of Dudley’s communities can guide and influence how Council services are delivered. Raising the profile of opportunities for involvement and having a customer focused approach is a very high priority for Dudley.

Getting involved has never been easier. We offer a range of ways that enable you to ‘have a say’ - ways that meet the needs of our ever changing lifestyles. We understand that your free time may be limited and with this in mind we would like to give you opportunity to influence how services are delivered to you.  We would like to gain your views through postal, telephone or email surveys.  Remember it may only take a few minutes to make a suggestion or comment that could improve how services are delivered for everyone. We want to hear what YOU have to say, by talking to each other everyone can benefit from improved services.

Getting involved can benefit you too – you will gain experience, knowledge and the confidence to challenge and influence how things work.   You will have the opportunity to meet people, who like you, feel that it is important that your views, comments and suggestions are acted upon.  So why not give it a go – what have you got to loose?

Getting the mix right!
We would like to encourage tenants and residents from Dudley’s diverse community to get involved in helping to make our services better, more accessible and transparent. By getting involved you can really make a difference to the area you live in and the services provided by the council.

We would like you to get more involved in helping us to improve services. Are you from one of the following groups?

  • Young people
  • Black Minority Ethnic Communities
  • Leaseholder

If so then we would really like to hear from you.  You can email Participation Development Team or telephone on 01384 815168 or write to us at Participation Development Team, Stourbridge Area Housing Officer, Crown Centre, Stourbridge, DY8 1YB

Friendship Event 2008 - Celebrating Refugee Week

friendship
On the 19th June 2008 the Participation Development Team in partnership with the Asylum Seeker and Refugee Team hosted a Friendship Event to celebrate Refugee Week 2008.

The event was a huge success with over 40 people attending the event.  There were information stands from many organisations and the delegates gained valuable knowledge about what services are available within our communities.

Volunteers from the day have agreed to help plan a bigger event for 2009 - so watch this space.
