Oval and Tudor TRA

Oval & Tudor Tenants & Residents Association
We are just starting our second year as a successfull Tenants and Residents Association.  In December 2007 at a network event, held by The Dudley Federation of Tenants and Residents Associations, we were presented with an award by an Assistant Director of Dudley Counicl, for recognition of our achievements as a new TRA. It was a great honour for us to receive this award for the work we are doing in the local community.

Back in July 07, we received a grant for £2,820 from the Birmingham Network Foundation. This grant was for a football project, we have spent £390 on football coaching sessions so far and after consulting with volunteers in the area who work with local children the remaining £2,436.40 has been spent on sports equipment.  The equipment will be used at our local Kids Club, Judo Club and the Fun Days we hold.
Some of the items we aim to obtain are:
Footballs indoor and out  /  Goal Posts  /  Bibs  /  Ball Skill Footballs  /  Cricket Sets  /  Skipping Ropes
Judo Belts  /  Aerobic Balls  /  Rugby Balls /  Trampoline  /  Baseball Bats / Balls  /  Tennis Rackets & Balls.
Our aim is that many children will benefit from this equipment and it will enable them to play numerous sports.

During the next 12 months we aim to:
  1. Hold a litter pick and clean up of the Estate (April 2008)
  2. Continue fundraising.
  3. Reduce anti-social behaviour & improve relationships with young people on the estate.
  4. Continue producing our newsletter.
  5. Continue rolling programme for sensor lighting across the area.

If you have any idea's for the group then email Participation Development Officer, Janet Hand, or contact on 01384 818283.

Our Housing Managers are Natasha Cash and Lindsey Danks and they can be contacted on 01384 818283.

Meeting Dates:

To be set for 2009

The group hold regular Estate Walkabouts with our Housing Manager. These give local residents the opportunity to highlight environmental issues that may be causing concern on our estate. We have guest attend including the Police and other Council Departments, so why not come along and show us what is important to you.

Many thanks
