Homelessness

There are many ways in which a person or their family can become homeless, often through no fault of their own. In Dudley, our aim is to prevent homelessness whenever possible, and to offer a range of housing options to people who are homeless or have other urgent housing needs.

If you are homeless or face the prospect of losing your home, please contact Dudley Council Plus on 0300 555 2345 or call in (address below). A Customer Services Advisor will take some details from you and will make a referral to our Homelessness Prevention and Response Team.

Please do not give up your existing accommodation unless absolutely necessary. Always try and obtain advice first before anything happens. We are always here to help. If you find yourself without a roof over your head over the weekend or outside of office hours, please don't hesitate to call our emergency housing team on 0300 555 8283 for help.

Mortgage arrears advice

Free mortgage arrears advice is on offer to anyone in the Dudley borough who fears they may lose their home due to property repossession and mounting debts.

The advice, which is available to anyone who lives in the borough, is the result of a service developed by the Dudley Council’s homelessness team and the Dudley District Citizens’ Advice Bureau.  It is aimed at anyone who is having difficulty keeping up their monthly mortgage payments.

Anyone who wants to use this free, confidential service should telephone 01384 816499 or visit their local Citizens’ Advice Bureau.  All discussions are strictly confidential.

Nationally, there is a free, impartial advice service available to homeowners at the Direct Gov website or by calling the National Debtline on 0808 808 4000
