Do I have the Right to Buy?

There is an initial qualification period that you must meet before you can apply to buy your home.  You must have held a tenancy with us, another local authority (or a public sector body) for at least two years before you can apply to buy.  If your secure tenancy started after 18^th January 2005 you do not have the Right to Buy until you have spent at least five years as a public sector tenant.
