Carers Emergency Card
Many carers worry what will happen to the person they care for if they themselves have an accident or medical emergency. The Carers Card states that the holder is a carer and will ask people to advise the emergency Contact Centre, Dudley Borough Direct, that a carer has had a medical emergency.
Each card carries a unique code number and no personal details are shown. When the centre receives the call it will follow contact instructions given in the carers’ records. If it cannot reach the named contact, Social Services or another relevant agency will be advised of the need for assistance for a cared for person.
This is a free, 24-hour all year round service. Further details can be obtained from the Carers Coordinator on 01384 818723
