What to do if you need housing related support
If you feel that you could live independently within the community by having somebody to give you help and support to run your home you may be able to receive help from one of our Supporting People providers.
Some of the providers will come into the home that you are already living in and give you support to help you remain living independently. The sort of support that you can have includes help to access services that will mean that you get the right money and benefits that you are entitled to, help to understand your rights and obligations of a tenancy, helping you to access services such as a GP, dentist or training and education. The provider will work with you to agree a support plan that will identify the types of support that you need. This type of support is often called 'floating support'.
If you are seeking somewhere to live and you also need support, some of our providers provide both accommodation and support. They will provide you with somewhere to live that meets your housing needs and provide the same sort of support as mentioned above. This type of support is often called 'accommodation based support'.
