The Ethnic Minority Achievement Service (EMAS) works in partnership with schools and communities to provide support for children with English as an additional language, helping to raise the achievement of ethnic minority pupils including new arrivals. They provide in-class curriculum and bilingual support and intensive short term programmes for new arrivals (Saturday English Language classes and Supplementary schools). In service training and resources are available for school staff.
