Copy Certificates
You can apply online for copy certificates by completing the details on screen and paying for the certificate electronically or alternatively you can download Certificate Application Forms from the bottom of this page and apply by post enclosing a cheque or postal order or call in person to our office and pay by cash/cheque/credit or debit card.
The certificate is a copy of the original register entry made at the time of the event. Certificates can be produced by photocopying the register page onto certificate paper, therefore showing the original signatures etc or by typing the information from the register entry onto certificate paper. All registrations made after January 2007 are held electronically and will be printed.
Applications for certificates are processed in 2 working days (post 1940) and 5 working days (pre 1940).
Therefore sufficient time needs to be allowed for us to receive and process applications.
Short Birth Certificate £9.00 each
Standard Birth/Death/Marriage Certificate £9.00 each
If the event has been registered recently (usually within a month) the cost is £7.00 please telephone the office beforehand to check, telephone numbers below.
Please allow 7 days for delivery of your certificate.
