A new surface design is being considered for a major island in the borough and people are being offered the chance to have their say.
The road safety improvements at Grange Road island in Halesowen, which started in June are now complete.
The work has included re-shaping the island, altering the exits, improving pedestrian crossing points, street lighting, resurfacing, drainage and signs.
As part of the final work, views are now being obtained on the surface design for the island itself.
Due to its location it will not be possible to plant trees and shrubs, therefore a hard landscape solution using coloured resin paving is being considered.
Details of the design can be accessed via www.dudley.gov.uk/grangeroadisland where a simple online questionnaire can be completed. Alternatively, displays can be found in the foyer at Halesowen library from 1 to 31 December.
Councillor Angus Adams, cabinet member for transportation, said:
“Grange island is a gateway into Halesowen, which currently lacks any visual markers and a sense of identity. We hope to overcome this by creating an attractive design, which could create an individual feature connecting the town with this major access route.
“I hope as many people as possible take the time to view the proposals and complete our short questionnaire.”
