What is an Apprenticeship?
You will learn at work, get real on the job experience whilst getting a paid wage.You will have the chance of progression whilst developing your knowledge through qualifications. Your future prospects will be good both in gaining skills and furthering your eduction.There are a number of elements to each Apprenticeship and this is called the Framework. Each Apprenticeship framework has three main strands:
There are over 190 frameworks covering 80 sectors ranging from Accountancy to Youth Work.
Anyone living in England, over 16 and not in full time education can apply.
Apprenticeships can take between one and four years to complete depending on the level of Apprenticeship, the apprentices’ ability and the industry sector. The minimum salary is £125 a week, however, many apprentices earn significantly more.

Your career
Employers recognise and value Apprenticeships as they show that you’ve been trained in the skills they need. Following Apprenticeship you can choose to carry on working, undertake more advanced training or even go on to higher education.
Your employer and learning provider
Your employer will provide your on-the-job training and pay your wages. A learning provider is usually a local college or specialist training organization responsible for the rest of your training. The learning provider will appoint a mentor who will follow your progress and work with the employer to ensure your training is well planned.
There are three levels of Apprenticeships*
1 Intermediate Apprenticeship - Level 2
2 Advanced Apprenticeships - Level 3
3 Higher Apprenticeships - Level 4 and above
** Higher Apprenticeships are currently only available in a small number of frameworks
