Split into 11 key service areas, the chief executive’s directorate plays a key role in providing a range of services, supporting the functions of the council and making sure the council’s priorities are delivered timely, efficiently and cost effectively.

Through corporate leadership and direction and developing staff and partnerships, the directorate aims to deliver a high performing customer focused council with accessible public services which measurably improve residents’ quality of life.

The council is committed to maintaining the safety of residents in the borough and aims to activate, utilise and employ the council’s resources and expertise for the benefit and protection of local people.
