Targeted Youth Work

Dudley Youth Service prioritises work with vulnerable and disadvantaged young people whilst supporting local groups to provide open access youth work activities.

There are 6 evening clubs for young people with learning difficulties and disabilities which are as follows:

Monday - Halesowen Youth Centre and the 16+ Transition groups

Tuesday - Russells Hall Youth Centre

Wednesday - Lower Gornal Youth Centre, The Source Youth Centre and Valley Rd Youth Centre

There are also regular holiday activity programmes offered at the above.

On a Monday night at Lower Gornal Youth Centre we offer a youth club specific to young people in care.  At the same venue there is also a Thursday group working towards their Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award

The Youth Service supports the work of the Teenage Pregnancy team and is able to deliver SRE training to both adults and young people.  We support teenage parent groups, develop peer education projects and offer a number of c-card sexual health drop ins across the borough.

The Youth Service provides a number of early interventions to address anti social behaviour and divert young people from offending.  I addition we provide support to the Youth Offending Service when working with young offenders.
