Archives and Local History Service Logo

Dudley Archives Service

The aim of Dudley Archives Service is to acquire, preserve and make available for public research any and all material relating to the present Dudley Metropolitan Borough area. This includes both manuscripts, such as parish records, council minutes and files, title deeds and maps, and also printed material, in the form of books, pamphlets, posters and newspapers, and audio visual material. this material spans dates from the 12th century to the present day, covering the whole range of local history and local study topics.

The Leasowes Project

The Leasowes is situated in Halesowen on the southern edge of the West Midlands urban conurbation and remains of one of the most important and influential landscapes of the 18th century.

Libraries

Dudley's Libraries provide a number of opportunities to renew books online, book computers for use within the libraries of the borough, and read and submit reviews online for books,CD's and DVD's.

Leisure Centres

There are four leisure centres in the borough providing a wide range of activities for everyone.

Online Leisure Bookings

Online Leisure bookings can now be made for selected activities at Crystal, Dudley and Halesowen Leisure Centres. If you have a fitness, swimming or booking membership then you will be able to use this service.

Liveability

The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister has created a Liveability fund of £89 million. Throughout the country, there are twenty seven pilot authorities in receipt of this money. Dudley Council is one of these and has been awarded £3.4 million over three years for its project called Improving Parks for People.
