Dudley Council’s Access Guide

Welcome to Dudley Council’s Access Guide.  The Access Guide provides comprehensive information about access to Council buildings for people with disabilities, giving everyone the opportunity to make informed decisions about the buildings they visit.

The form and content of the Access Guide has been developed following direct involvement with people with disabilities, with particular assistance from Access in Dudley, a forum of local disabled people.

Information is presented on the Council’s web pages, providing users with different ways to search and investigate the accessibility of council buildings open to the public.

A Glossary of terms is also available to view.

Guides are also available in a variety of alternative formats, including:

  • Large print (as a download or direct from the Council’s Access Officer),

  • Audio (as a download or available from the Council’s Access Officer) or

  • Braille (available from the Council’s Access Officer).

The Access Guide currently describes buildings managed by the Directorate of the Urban Environment, which includes a wide selection of commonly visited buildings: museums, halls, leisure centres and council offices.  Other Council buildings will be added to the Guide over time.

If you wish to request an Access Guide in an alternative format, relating to any of the buildings listed or to make further comments or report any errors, please contact:
