Catering and Food Hygiene in Public Halls

Banqueting Suite and Bar

If you are interested in hiring a hall and catering forms a part of your hire requirements, please see the following guidelines.

Food handling and preparation should be carried out by suitably qualified personnel and we therefore require you to book catering through professional catering companies.

Holding areas at Brierley Hill Civic Hall, Halesowen Cornbow Hall and Dudley Concert Hall are very limited in facilities and we do not allow these to be used for anything but minor food handling. In all instances food is to be provided by professional catering companies.

Stourbridge Town Hall has two kitchens which are better equipped and can offer some re-heating and cooking facilities for limited numbers, again for use by professional caterers only.

If you intend to use a caterer you will need to notify us of the Caterer that you intend to use as soon as possible, as we may seek assurances from the company that they are registered with a local authority and have all the necessary insurance and training certification to provide catering to a public hall.

Please note that we apply restrictions to the provision of all consumables, including drinks, and insist that our in-house bar management provide all such consumables to ensure that only recognised and authorised products are consumed on these Council premises.

The Venue Manager may terminate any event at any time prior or during, which represents a significant deviation from the catering arrangements that are provided or where catering practises appear to represent a health safety or hygiene threat to the people consuming food and/or beverages on the premises.

The Bars Management will discuss your requirements with you and can be contacted as follows:-

  • Dudley Concert Hall, Brierley Hill Civic Hall and Halesowen Cornbow Hall: Plyvine Catering: 01384 263178.
  • Stourbridge Town Hall: 01384 812960.
