Whats DAiR To… all about?

DAiR To… is an exciting dance development project running throughout the West Midlands from October 2005 to December 2007.  Five Dance Artists in Residence (DAiRs), each based at a specific partner venue in the area, are creating high quality dance activities linked to their partner venue’s programme of work, and together are delivering thousands of opportunities for young people across the region.

DAiR To… engages young people in dance experiences that would otherwise not be available or accessible to them – and works with other providers to skill them up to do the same.

Maria Blundell is the Dudley DAiR To… Dance Artist who is based at Stourbridge Town Hall. Contact Marie for further information

DAiR To… aims to
  • create thousands of exciting opportunities that fill gaps in dance provision across the West Midlands
  • increase access to good quality dance for disadvantaged young people
  • provide professional development experiences for dance artists and teachers
  • create an audience development initiative for their venues
  • give five dance artists the opportunity to network with each other and work with a choreographer on an annual commission and tour
