Recent
successful projects have included a five year hospital art project for
the three new hospitals in Dudley in collaboration with the NHS Trust;
the organisation of a public memorial and plaque in Lye to commemorate
locally born actor Sir Cedric Hardwicke; the design of components for a
new town square in Dudley town centre; the design of an automaton for
Stourbridge town centre; and the writing of strategies for the
integration of art into both the proposed Metro extension to Brierley
Hill and also the new Brierley Hill road scheme, Venture Way.
Steve
Field is also responsible for instigating the “Pegasus” statue on
Scotts Green Island and “Fires of Industry”, on Cinder Bank Island, as
part of the Millennium Sculpture Trail.
Other
work includes “Sleipnir” the leaping horse, alongside the Midland
Metro, the clock tower at West Bromwich bus station and the organisation
of the landmark Duncan Edwards football statue project in Dudley town
centre.
