Dudley School Gymnastics Competition

The Dudley Schools Gymnastics Competition is organised by the Sport and Physical Activity service in partnership with the Dudley School Games Organisers.

The competition is a team competition and every primary and secondary school in Dudley is invited to take part. The competition is divided into four categories, Years 1 and 2, Years 3 and 4, Years 5 and 6 and Years 7 to 13.

Each team must have a minimum of four and a maximum of five participants with the top four scores going towards the team total.  Teams can be the same gender or mixed with any combination.

Due to entry numbers the competition is now held over four days with three dates for each primary partnership and a fourth day of competition for secondary schools.

The Dudley Schools Gymnastics Competition is a level 2 School Games competition.  The School Games is a key government priority for realising a meaningful legacy for the Olympic and Paralympic Games. The winning teams from each of the level 2 competitions are given the opportunity to represent Dudley at the level 3 Black Country School Games event.

The Dudley Schools Gymnastics Competition 2011 saw 465 children and young people take part. The Dudley representative teams went on to win three of the four age groups at the Black Country Gymnastics Competition 2011.
