Review of the Month

Our review for this month is for "Glassblower of Murano" written by Marina Fiorato.  It was submitted by Miss H. White.

'' This is a brilliant novel telling the parallel stories of Corradino Manin and his ancestor Leonora some 400 years later. Leonora leaves her life behind in London to head for the Venice of her ancestor, hoping to follow in his footsteps to the glassblowing furnaces of Murano. Yet her journey of discovery leads to revelations about Corradino and shakes her faith in her new life. As Leonroa traces his life Corradino's story unfurls for us and we learn about his violent history and his passion for the glass which saved him. This is very well written, giving enough detail to fire the imagination but leaving the reader with subtle hints to guide them through the book. A fascinating book which leaves you wanting to discover more."
