Cradley reopened after a short period following some refurbishment. A teenage user group put together a bid to the Youth Opportunities Fund to improve the teenage area of the library. Due to the fund being frozen the submission was not allowed to go through. However the library did buy new furniture as a result.

The photo here shows a chain of hearts, each heart has a note written by the children of Colley Lane school on why they love Cradley Library.
Some of the reasons were:
'I like the library because I can talk to the staff'
'I like the library because I can choose a story'
'I enjoy going to the library because I really love reading'
'At the library I can find information'
'I love the library because I can meet real authors'
