Extended Opening Hours
There’s even more choice about when to visit Dudley libraries as many are set to open their doors for longer.
Following the first round of extended opening times, which saw Dudley and Stourbridge libraries open on Sundays for the first time, Dudley Council is set to introduce its second phase.
Brierley Hill and Sedgley libraries are the next libraries to open on Sundays from September 21 between 10am to 2pm.
From Monday September 15 Brierley Hill Library will also open on Wednesdays and longer on Fridays, while Sedgley Library will also open longer on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
In addition, both Long Lane and Cradley libraries will also open their doors for longer from mid September. Not only will both now open on Thursdays, Long Lane will also open later on Wednesdays and Saturdays and Cradley will be open longer on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Once this phase is complete the council will be on its way to meeting its target to extend staffed opening hours by 75 hours each week.
However, the introduction of four new library links in community facilities across the borough will add more than 60 hours of further opening.
Further plans to extend opening times will soon be coming to Halesowen, Netherton and Lye libraries.
Residents and people who work in Dudley, are reminded that they can also access library services 24/7 online at www.dudley.gov.uk/libraries where they can search online catalogues, renew or reserve books, book a pc at any library or library link and even become a library member. Joining is free and open to everyone.
