Halesowen Locality Library Panel

Want to help shape the future of library services in Halesowen, Cradley or Long Lane? 

Halesowen Locality is looking for five committed library members, to take part in this pilot project to work alongside councillors and staff from the local area.  It is only open to members of the library and and you must not be an employee of Dudley Council.

Six week beginners Ukulele course

All ages are welcome to join in with a 6 week ukulele course starting:

What's available?

We stock a wide range of books in a variety of formats (including playaway).  We also stock a range of DVDs and CDs, as well as providing newspapers and magazines.

  • Room for hire:   Full details about our rooms available for hire at Halesowen and other libraries.

What can I do?

Join a Reading group.  These are friendly and popular groups and new members are always welcome.  These are held:

  • 2nd Tuesday of the month: 4pm to 5pm

  • 2nd Monday of the month: 2pm to 3pm 

  • 3rd Monday of the month: 2pm to 3pm  

Time Travel: Go back in time by attending a Local History Talk 

Use a computer:  Check your email or type a document.  We also have a wifi access!  We also hold weekly one-to-one computer tasters where a member of staff will sit with you for your taster.  Book your place now - maximum of three sessions per customer.

  • Monday: 3.30 to 4.30pm: also includes digital photography/facebook/twitter/ebay.  Sessons are tailored to suit you

  • Wednesday: 11am to 12pm

  • Friday: 3.15pm to 4.15pm  

Job Club: Get help with all aspects of job search: Every Friday 12.15pm to 2.15pm

Talk to your councillor: Find out who your local councillor is and where and when they hold surgeries.

Research Family History: Our staff can help you to find resources to help you.  Did you know we provide FREE access to ancestry.com within the library?  Sometimes introductory sessions are held in libraries on using ancestry.com.  These will always be advertised on our events page.

Rattle and Rhyme: A very popular activity during term time and are held weekly.

  • Monday: 11.15am to 11.45am

  • Wednesday: 2.15pm to 2.45pm

 We also run:   

  • Chatterbooks: Every month (term-time): 3.45pm to 4.45pm

  • Storytime: Fridays 9.30am to 10am

  • Teenage Reading group (12 years to 16 years): Saturdays 2.30pm to 3.30pm

  • Manga Group for young people: Sunday once a month: 11am - 12pm
