What's available?

 

We stock a wide range of books in a variety of formats.  We also stock a range of DVDs and CDs, as well as provide newspapers and magazines.

 

What can I do?  

Join a reading group.  These are friendly and popular groups and new members are always welcome:

  • Every 1st Wednesday in the month from 11am to 12pm

Other groups:

  • Afternoon tea: View new books every Tuesday 2pm to 4pm 

    Knitting Group: Every Thursday 11am to 12.30pm

    Every Thursday 11am to 12.30pm

 

 Time Travel:  Go back in time by attending a Local History Talk

 Use a computer:  Check your email, or type a document.  We also have free wifi access!  Computer taster sessions are also available on demand and currently run every Tuesday and Thursday.  Contact the library to book a place. 

Talk to your councillor:  Find out who your local councillor is and where and when they hold surgeries.

Research Family History:  Our staff can help you to find resources to help you.  Did you know we provide FREE access to ancestry.com within the library?  Sometimes introductory sessions are held in libraries on using ancestry.com.  These will always be advertised on our events page.

For Children, Young People and Families

 

Rattle and Rhyme:  A very popular activity during term time and are held on:

  • Tuesdays: 10am to 10.30am and 11am to 11.30am

 We also have:

  •  Family Story and Craft: 3rd Saturday of the month 11.15am to 12.15pm

  • Sunday Stories: 12pm to 12.30pm- families welcome

 Chatterbooks: A reading group just for children and teenagers.  New members always welcome.  Our link provides details of days and times.
