Internet Access for minors in Libraries
Dudley Libraries has a number of Firewalls in place on the people's network machine's which are used solely by children in the Junior Library.
Here are just a few examples of some of the Surf Control Categories which are blocked by the Firewall, Adult/Sexually Explicit, Chat, Criminal Skills, Drugs, Alcohol & Tobacco, Gambling,Hacking, Personals & Dating an Violence.
Guidelines on the use of images of children on Dudley Council's website
Dudley Council as a whole has strict guidelines about the use of the images of children on it's website, whether it is a photograph, video or webcam.
The Data Protection Act 1998 affects the use of photography. Permission of use must be consented by the parent if the child is under 12, plus why and where the photo will be used must be discussed before use.
