Here you can find information on everything to do with reading and writing.

If you are stuck on what to read next, just want to catch up on the winner of the Booker prize, or are interested in joining a reading group then this is the place for you.

Events and Activities

Our events page lists some exciting Dudley Library events.  There is also a download below of our regular activities which you may wish to take part in.  These include tasters in ancestry.com, as well as general ICT tasters.  Why not sign-up to our Library Events Newsletter?

Reading Groups

Reading Groups offer a welcoming, relaxing and friendly atmosphere to discuss books.

You can download a full list of reading groups below and then contact the library to find out more.  There is also a downloadable Reading Pack for anyone interested in setting up a reading group, as well as a list of Reading Group book sets we have.

Writing Groups

Local writing groups can be found on the Community Information Directory.  Just type 'writing groups' in the search box.

There are lots of useful and supportive websites for writers such as BBC Writers roomWrite Words, and Great Writing.  You can also view our booklist for writers on our online catalogue, from which you can reserve and collect from any library.

Job Clubs

You can download a list below of libraries which offer regular job clubs.  You can use our public access computers to write a C.V, search for jobs, and send off applications.  A member of staff from the Job centre will also be on hand to help.  You need to be a member of the library to use our public access computers, and it's free to join the library!
