Big Book Fortnight 19th May to 2nd June

Our regular Big Book Forthnight returns, celebrating reading across the Black Country!

Diamond Jubilee activities 

Activities to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

  • Saturday 2nd June  3 - 4pm Gornal Library:  Make some bunting.

  • Wednesday 6th June  10.30 - 11.30am Kingswinford Library:  Make a crown and sceptre.

  • Wednesday 6th June  2.30 - 3.30pm Coseley Library:  Draw a picture and help make bunting to decorate the children's section.

  • Thursday 7th June  11am – 12pm Brierley Hill Library:  Make a crown and sceptre.

  • Thursday 7th June  2.30 – 3.30pm Gornal Library:  Bookable session to make a crown.  Places are limited and must be booked on 01384 812755.

  • Friday 8th June  9.30 – 10.30am Wordsley Green library:  Make a crown and sceptre.

  • Friday 8th June  2.15pm – 3.15pm Stourbridge Library:  Prince and princess stories and Jubilee crafts. 

  • Saturday 9th June Stourbridge Library:  Afternoon tea and cakes in the adult library .  Staff will be dressed in patriotic colours to get visitors in a patriotic mood.


 

 Make a Noise in Libraries week: 11th to 24th June

Make a Noise in Libraries (MANIL) Fortnight is an annual campaign bringing public libraries and blind and partially sighted people together to improve access to books and information.  

Our information sessions are listed below are free and will take place between 10am and 2pm.  Also take a look at our other 'Need to know a bit more about...' sessions further down the page.


 

Carer's coffee morning

As part of carers week a coffee morning has been organised at Brierley Hill Library.  Come and chat with other carers, and try out free massage or reiki treatments.  There will also be a free jewellery making session (delivered by Adult and Community learning) and informative stands from various organisations and groups such as the carers writing group.

Living Well, Feeling Safe

This service is a partnership of council and other local organisations, working together to provide preventative safety, security, wellbeing services, advice, and support for older people.

All sessions are free and take place from 10am to 2pm

 

NHS Roadshow

Come along to the NHS roadshow for lots of information about the NHS.

 

Thoughts and Emotions

Information and guidance on mental health issues.  Free drop-in sessions, no appointment needed.

 

A4E

A support organisation contracted by Dudley Council to advise and assist people in receipt of direct payments and personalised budgets.  Free drop-in session, no appointment needed.
