Friends of Dudley Archives and Local History Service (FDALHS)

FDALHS was formed in 2001 with the co-operation of Dudley Archives & Local History Service. Its aims and objectives include:

  • To promote and support the work of the Dudley Archives & Local History Service

  • To raise the profile of archives locally and encourage the use of them

  • To foster interest in archives and promote their preservation and deposit with the Archives & Local History Service or other appropriate repository

  • To encourage the development of the Archives & Local History Service

  • To raise funds for these purposes and to make special purchases for the benefit of Dudley Archives & Local History Service

  • To provide a forum for users of the Archives & Local History Service to communicate with each other and with the service

Meetings are held at the Archives premises in Mount Pleasant Street, Coseley on the first Thursday of each month at 7.30 p.m. (every month except January and August).  These meetings consist of talks on family and local history topics by visiting speakers.  You don't need to be a member of the Friends to come to the talks, although a small fee will be charged for non-members.
