Dudley Museum & Art Gallery currently provides the following services to support lifelong learning:
Interactive and fun sessions for schools
Talks relating to collections and exhibitions provided by Museum staff
Events, activities and workshops during school holidays and weekends for both adults and children
Gallery interactives, worksheets and quizzes
Teachers' preview evenings for new exhibitions
The Education and Access Policy of the Museum links to the national, regional and local agendas and aims to maximise the potential of the collections and services to encourage access for all and learning opportunities in the widest sens
National and Regional Context
The Departments for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) and Education and Employment (DfEE) have recently released their vision for museum and gallery education. Entitled 'The Learning Power of Museums' it explains that:
