Kids at the Cone

We like to think of the Cone as a place to learn and have fun. It's a great place to take the family with free admission and parking, baby changing facilities and on-site tea room.
We have glassblowing demonstrations in our revamped hot glass studio. The glassblowers are happy to answer any questions visitors have about the process and are able to talk onlookers through the process if they're not too out of puff!
Family Fun
We host a FREE craft activity on the third Saturday of each month from 10am to 12noon. Sessions last around half an hour, so there's plenty of opportunity to wander round site afterwards.
'The Romans' exhibition includes:
- An interactive archaeological dig - what will you uncover?
- Roman games: play Knucklebones or The Soldier's Game
- Making a Roman mosaic
- Colouring and word search
We run children's holiday activities as part of the JAM Club. These usually cost £3 per child to cover materials and staff time. Children do need to be accompanied by an adult during these sessions. It's a great opportunity for them to get creative without parents having to worry about clearing up the mess afterwards. We do that for you.
