The Romans at the Cone
26 May 2007 to 29 March 2009 An exhibition showing Roman life and glassware, featuring an archaeological dig and Roman-themed events during school holidays, a programme of activities for schools is available The Romans were the first people to bring Glass to Britain. However they also bought a multi cultural consumer society to these isles. This exhibition looks at the way in which one of the most plentiful of consumer items, the pot, figured in Roman Britain. Winner "The best small exhibition on a budget", Renaissance West Midlands Awards 2008. |
