Visiting the Dudley area

Why not combine your trip to the Museum with a visit to the Red House Glass Cone or Ruskin Glass Centre all within four miles of Broadfield HOuse Glass Museum. Red House Glass Cone

In the heart of the Stourbridge Glass Quarter stands the Red House Glass Cone.

Over 100ft high, the Cone was built at the end of the 18th century and was in use until 1936. Now open to the public, you can now explore the Cone's fascinating history through film, audio guides, exhibits and demonstrations. Glass blowing demonstrations take place from 1.30pm-3.30pm at weekends only. Various craft studios on site and the Crystal tea room.

Dial Glass Works

Home to Tudor Crystal and Plowden & Thompson Ltd, the Dial Glassworks is a glass cone that was built in 1788. Plowden & Thompson specialise in producing handblown components for industry, tubing for neon signs and coloured glass and raw materials for the glass industry. Tudor Crystal offers a range of gifts and tableware from its factory shop, including engraved work and air twist goblets by master glassmakers. Tudor Crystal also offers a crystal replacement service. Factory tours are available by appointment and beadmaking courses are run throughout the year.

Ruskin Glass Centre

Ruskin Glass Centre was formerly the site of the world renowned Royal Doulton and Webb Corbett. It is now home to a wide array of glass crafts as well as furniture design, handmade soap and textiles. The brand new café serves high quality fresh organic snacks, meal and desserts.
