35 years of Stourbridge Embroiders Guild - A retrospective look
Saturday 7 April - Sunday 27 May
A showcase of all aspects of hand and machine embroidery including crewel work, needlepoint, cross stitch, textile art and mixed media. Stourbridge Branch of Embroiderers' Guild was formed in 1977 by a group of like-minded women from Stourbridge. In line with the aims of the Embroiderers' Guild, their aim was to create a group which would promote and encourage the art of embroidery and related textile crafts and to educate people about different embroidery techniques. Over the last 35 years, the group has taken on a number of commissions including the Stourbridge Town Panel which is housed in the town library. The group organises regular workshops for members to learn new techniques. The branch meets monthly at Our Lady and All Saints Parish Centre on the second Monday of the month where members listen to talks, lectures or demonstrations. Visit www.embroiderers guild.com
