Springfield Neighbourhood Tenants and Residents Association

History

This area used to contain an old garage, a mass of disused land and a magnet for rubbish and unsightly images. A few community members began the lengthy process of consultation, design and hard work to initiate beneficial changes to the area. The communities biggest wish was for a park to be built, so the children and adults alike, could enjoy the many benefits open spaces and parks can bring to urban dwellers. The area was first cleared, a few new waste bins where added, some fencing replaced, then an old desolate Garage site was transformed 18 months ago, into an ‘Oasis’. The oasis has an abundance of paths, wild flowers and benches for rest and relaxation, whilst enjoying the views.
