Stevens Park in Dudley’s Quarry Bank is a predominant feature along the Thorns Road (A 4036) just after the Merry Hill Shopping Centre heading towards Stourbridge. Measuring approximately 7 ha.
The Quarry Bank War Memorial was erected to commemorate around 300 Quarry Bank people that lost their lives in World War One and World War Two.
The park has extensive recreational facilities and many areas of managed grass, over its sweeping landscape. The park has large areas of open flat grass, ideal for team games, along with smaller shaded and un-shaded areas perfect for picnics and leisure activities. One of these large areas is utilised as a football pitch, by a variety of teams. The additional large grassed area, has a Multi-Use Games Area and Skate Park (both of which were installed in 2007), a band stand and a children's play area. This park hosts spectacular views to surrounding areas and catches the stunning setting sun just perfectly.
Stevens Park has a small active Friends Group which was formally established when members of the local community volunteered to start discussions on ways of improving and regenerating the park to its full potential and encourage increased public use. The group are always recruiting new members, to assist with future plans and events. If you are interested, please contact the Liveability Team for more details.
