The park is surrounded by shrubbery and trees and has some tarmac paths with a selection of seating benches. The park has a children's play area and large areas of open grass idea for team games and recreational activities. To the edge of the open grass is a dirt ground area, this would be ideal for softball or boundary type games. The tree line creates areas of shaded and un-shaded grass, idea for family picnics. The park has a quiet family appeal, with the pond being the main focus of the scenery making the area idea for bird watching. The park has a raised section of trees, off setting remarkable views of the busy park, during the summer months, producing photography and artist opportunities, as well as, for pure enjoyment purposes.
The pool is the main focus of the site, the man made pond, being a large area of open water, the site attracts an abundance of water based bird life. Ducks, Geese, Moore Hens and Swans are residents of the pond. Utilising the bushy forestry areas that line the edges of the pond for nesting.
The park has an active
Friends Group who work in partnership with the council to develop Parks in Kingswinford and Wall Heath. King George VI Park also has a very active bowls club and a model boat group who hold regular activities.
