Long term works
Cottage Street will be closed to traffic from Friday March 17 until Sunday July 2.
It will be closed from High Street in an easterly direction for a distance of 22m.
The restriction is required to safety carry out highway improvement works
From April 5 the following roads may be used for diverted traffic in order to facilitate works on the Metro.

Work to upgrade traffic signals at three major junctions in Kingswinford is now underway.
Motorists are warned to expect delays while the works – which will be in three phases and run for nearly a year – take place.
Phase one is due to start on October 2 and will run until Christmas at the junction of Cot Lane, Swindon Road, Lodge Lane and Summerhill.
The junction of Moss Grove, Wolverhampton Street, Stallings Lane and Dudley Road will form phase two, taking place from January next year until spring 2024.
The third and final phase of work, to the junction of Moss Grove, High Street, Market Street and Summerhill, is expected to start in June next year and run until September.
Manually controlled temporary signals will be in place throughout to minimise disruption as much as possible. However, significant delays are expected during certain periods and motorists are asked to avoid the areas affected where possible.
Castle Hill (update January 2023)
Two-way traffic will return to Castle Hill in Dudley town centre from Monday January 23 following the completion of main works in this area for the first phase of the Wednesbury to Brierley Hill Metro extension.
Following the road fully re-opening, there will be temporary overnight lane restrictions for inbound traffic for approximately two weeks to allow the construction team to safely install new street furniture. These restrictions will begin at 7.45pm each evening until approximately 6am the following morning. The activity has been planned in this way to reduce the impact on those travelling during peak daytime hours, and is expected to be completed by Friday 10 February 2023.
Other work planned
From February 13 2023 Birmingham Street, Dudley will be closed to vehicular traffic from the King Street/Trindle Road junction to Fisher Street. King Street bus lane will also be closed from the service yard for The Churchill Shopping Centre to the end of the bus lane in Birmingham Street
This restriction will be in place indefinitely.
Access to the bus station for buses only will be via Portersfield. Access to the rear service area for Birdcage Walk will be maintained via Fisher Street
The purpose of the restriction is to safely facilitate works related to the Midland Metro Extension.
King Street and part of Flood Street, Dudley will be closed from Monday 22 May until Tuesday 22 August for works on the Midland Metro tram line extension.
The closure will be from King Street, on the north side at the junction of Flood Street, and from the eastern kerb line of Flood Street to outside of No. 24 King Street; and from Flood Street to the junction of Oakwell Street.
Traffic will be diverted via Flood Street and New Mill Street.
Work is ongoing to improve Junction 10 of the M6.

From 22 December 2023, Ednam Road, Dudley between The Broadway and Priory Road will be one way.
Traffic will be able to travel from The Broadway to Priory Road, however traffic wishing to travel in the opposite direction will be required to use Priory Road, The Broadway or Priory Road, Tower Street, The Broadway.
This change to traffic flows is to accommodate the closure of Dudley Bus Station on 14 January 2024, when buses will be operating from Tower Street, Ednam Road, and Priory Road.
Dudley Bus Station will be replaced with a modern and efficient new transport interchange that will link bus services with the town's Metro terminus.
Short term works
Phased resurfacing works are taking place in Brierley Hill town centre from 2 to 26 April.
Roads to be resurfaced are Brierley Hill High Street, Mill Street, Cottage Street and Pearson Street. There will also be works to parts of Dudley Road, Bank Street, Level Street, Moor Street and Little Cottage Street.
Work will be carried out during the evening and overnight between 7pm and 5am next morning. Affected roads will have phased closures, with appropriate diversions and road signage to be in place as works are carried out.
High Street, Brierley Hill will be closed from Tuesday 2 April to Thursday 27 April for carriageway resurfacing and associated lining and loop cutting.
The closure will be in place between 7pm and 5am each night, split into three phases.
Phase One: The extent of the restriction will be from Venture Way to Mill Street. All vehicular traffic will be diverted via Venture Way, Mill Street and vice versa.
Phase Two: The extent of the restriction will be from Venture Way to Dudley Road.
All vehicular traffic will be diverted via Venture Way, Level Street and vice versa; and Church Street, North Street, Moor Street, Leys Road, High Street (Brockmoor), Hickman Road, Pensnett Road, Bank Street and vice versa.
Phase Three: The extent of the restriction will be from Moor Street to Dudley Road junction of Venture Way.
All vehicular traffic will be diverted via High Street, Venture Way, Dudley Road and vice versa.
All eastbound vehicular traffic on Pensnett Road will be diverted via Hickman Road, High Street (Brockmoor), Leys Road, and Moor Street.

Part of Castle Hill will be closed on Sunday April 28 for tree cutting.
The closure is for one day only and will be between Castle Gate Island and Castle Street.
Traffic will be diverted via Tipton Road, Birmingham New Road, Priory Road and The Broadway.
King Street, Dudley will be closed from 4 March to 6 May from The junction of Union Street to the junction of Flood Street for draining, paving and kerb works.
Traffic will be diverted via New Mill Street, Flood Street and vice versa.
Tennyson Road, Lower Gornal will be closed from Wednesday 10 April to Wednesday 24 April for carriageway reconstruction works.
The closure will be in effect between Kipling Road and Longfellow Road.
Traffic will be diverted via Kipling Road, Longfellow Road, Coleridge Rise, The Straits, Browning Road, Chaucer Avenue, Kipling Road and vice versa.
Cinder Road, Lower Gornal will be closed from Tuesday 23 April to Thursday 25 April for carriageway reconstruction works.
The closure will be in effect from The Spinney to Himley Road; and from Chapel Walk to Himley Road via Bull Street.
Traffic on Cinder Road will be diverted via Brookbank Road, Guys Lane and Himley Road.
Traffic on Bull Street will be diverted via Louise Street, Summit Place and Himley Road.
Traffic travelling on Himley Road Westbound from Milking Bank Island will be diverted via Coopers Bank Road, Smithy Lane, Tansey Green Road and vice versa.
Bloomfield Road North, Halesowen will be closed from May 7 to 20 for a gas mains replacement.
The closure will be in place between 72 Bloomfield Street North and the junction with Attwood Street.
Traffic will be diverted via Attwood Street, Hawne Lane, Cherry Street, Beach Street, Bloomfield Street North, and vice versa.

Lodge Crescent, Netherton will be closed from 6 to 27 May to safely facilitate Mains replacement works.
The extent of the restriction will be from number 2 to 53. Traffic will be diverted via Farm Road.

Tansey Green Road, Pensnett will be closed from Tuesday 23 April to Friday 28 April for the installation of a telecoms pole.
The closure will be in effect from outside 140 Tansey Green Road to the junction with Herringbone Way.
Traffic will be diverted via Smithy Lane, Sandfield Bridge, Stallings Lane, Tansey Green Road and vice versa.
Beacon Rise, Sedgley (from the junction of Beacon Lane to 24 Beacon Rise) will be closed to traffic from April 23 to 29 to safely facilitate a mains water repair.
All traffic will be diverted via Beacon Lane, Cross Lane, Greenway, Beacon Rise and vice versa.
Turney Road, Stourbridge, will be closed from Tuesday 23 April to Thursday 25 April between numbers 19 and 23 for work to repair a water leak.
No diversion due to it being a cul de sac. Access to be maintained.
Baylie Street, Stourbridge will be closed from Monday 22 April to Friday 26 April for excavation works to reconnect a street lamp.

Restrictions will run from the junction of Foxcote Lane to the junction of Deer Park Gardens.

Elmwood Road, Wordsley will be closed from Monday 22 April to Wednesday 24 April for the installation of a dropped kerb.
The closure will be in effect between 2 Elmwood Road and 6 Elmwood Road.
