Youngsters can keep boredom at bay with a whole host of activities at the Crystal Leisure Centre this summer.
The summer programme, which runs from Monday 25 July to Sunday 4 September, includes under fives fun sessions trampolining, arts and crafts and new for 2016 zorb ball sessions.
Youngsters, aged five to 11, can try their hand at arts and crafts and make a gift to take home on Tuesday 2, 16 and 30 August from 11am till noon. Classes cost £5 per child.
There will be one-hour trampolining lessons for beginners aged five to 15 running on Tuesday 26 July and 2, 9 and 16 August at 10 and 11am and on Friday 29 July and 12 and 19 August at 10am.
Intermediate classes suitable for children already having lessons will run on Friday 29 July and 12 and 19 August from 11am until noon with advanced classes running on Tuesday 26 July and 2 and 9 August at 12 and 1pm. All over fives trampolining sessions cost £6 per person.
Hour-long fun trampolining sessions for under 5s will run from 9 and 10am on Tuesday 26 July and 2, 9, 16 and 23 August and Friday 29 July and 12 and 19 August and cost £5 per session. Parents must stay with their child for this class.
A 50 per cent discount is available on all trampolining lessons for Options+ leisure card holders
The centre will be hosting hour-long under 5s fun sessions from 10am every Wednesday. The sessions which will run from 27 July to 24 August include trampettes, a bouncy castle and soft play shapes and cost £3.60 per child. Parents must stay with their child for this session.
Inflatable zorb ball sessions will run every Friday from 29 July to 19 August and on Thursday 4 and 18 August and include football and other fun games. The 45 minute sessions are suitable for eight to 12 year olds will run from 12.30 and 1.45pm and cost £5 per session.
Activezone sessions will run from 8.45am to 5pm Monday 25 July and 8 and 22 August and Wednesday 27 July and 10 and 24 August and include a mix of team games such as football, rounders, obstacle races, swimming and crafts. Suitable for children aged eight to 14 years old, the sessions cost £20 per day and participants will need to bring a packed lunch and drinks. Advance booking is required.
Children under eight can also enjoy the centre’s soft play suite, which is open every day during the school holidays and includes slides, stepping stone run, spider web crawl and interactive light and sound system. The sessions cost £2.50 per child. Please call the centre to confirm opening times and entrance may be limited during busy periods.
The centre’s crèche is open on Mondays and Fridays 9.30am until 12pm and Tuesdays from 9.30am until 12.30pm and costs £4 per child. The facility is run by qualified staff and gives parents the chance to use the leisure centre facilities or try the extensive range of classes on offer. The crèche will be closed on bank holiday Monday (29 August).
Young people under the age of 16 will also receive 50 per cent off the full adult price on a casual, no advance booking basis, for badminton, squash, table tennis, five-a-side football, netball and basketball. All participants in the sport must be under 16 to receive the discount.
