Exciting night time visuals of Dudley’s brand new market place have been revealed showing previously unseen views of the new development.
The two images, which show views from both Stone Street and Castle Street, reveal how the historic area will look once complete in 2015.
New paving, brand new stalls, canopies, feature lighting, new street furniture, as well as the relocation of the Duncan Edwards statue to a more prominent place at the New Street end of the market, all come together to create a vibrant, cosmopolitan space at the heart of the town centre.
Phase two includes the replacement of the existing market stalls and the construction of the new ones. To facilitate this element of the scheme the market traders have relocated to temporary stalls on the other side of the fountain with overspill at Stone Street Square.
Councillor Judy Foster, cabinet member for regeneration, said:
“The evening shots of how the new market will look once complete really help to bring this significant regeneration project to life.
“These images along with other information about the scheme will be fitted to the fencing around the market place next week.
“I would like to thank shops, businesses, residents and shoppers for their continued patience during this time.”
Dudley town centre and the bus station remain very much open for business.
All car parks around the town centre remain open.
The full project is programmed for completion in the first half of 2015.
