Cracking fun at the Crystal

Children of all ages can take part in fun and games at the Crystal Leisure Centre during the Easter holidays.

The Dudley Council owned facility in Bell Street, Stourbridge, will be hosting a jam packed fortnight of fun from Saturday 8 to Sunday 23 April.

The swimming pool, complete with slides, waves, bubble seat and rapids, is open every day. There will also be a bondi-beat water disco on Fridays from 3.30pm to 6pm.

Youngsters aged seven and under can crawl, step, or run their way around the soft play suite throughout the week. Qualified staff supervise the area, but parents must remain with their children. Entrance costs £2.50 per child and parents are asked to check opening times before their visit.

An hour-long trampolining session for tots aged under-five will run at 9am on Tuesday 11 and 18 and Friday 21 April at a cost of £5 per child. A second 60-minute trampolining class for beginners aged five to 15 will be held at 10am and 11am on the same dates for £6. An advanced trampolining class for five to 15 year olds is also on offer at noon and 1pm on Tuesday 11 April for the same price. Parents must be present at the lessons and classes must be booked in advance.

For children aged five and under the centre is running a ‘gym and play’ session that includes gymnastics, soft play shapes and bouncy castle. The activity takes place from 9.45am on Wednesday 12 April and parents are required to stay with their child throughout.

Intensive junior swimming lessons for children age four and over will run from Monday 10 April to Friday 14 April for £26 and Tuesday 18 to Friday 21 April for £20.80 per course. Beginners who require armbands or swimming belts can join lessons starting at 9.30am and 10.30am with an improvers class for children who can swim up to 25m at 10am. The daily 30-minute lessons must be pre-booked.

Crafty children aged five to 11 can get creative with Easter crafts on Tuesday 11 April from 11am. The hour long session costs £5 and must be booked in advance.

Adventurous youngsters can learn the ropes with an introduction to indoor climbing on Wednesday 12 and 19 April. Equipment is provided for the instructed activity, which runs at 9.30am and again at 11.15am on each day. Children aged nine to 15 can take part and it costs £6 per session.

Pre-booking at reception is recommended for all school holiday activities. For more information, or to book a place, call 01384 812800, or visit www.dudley.gov.uk/sport
