27 - The haunted library

A spookily special event will be held at Dudley library next month to celebrate the release of a new work by famed ‘Woman in Black’ writer, Susan Hill.

The event on Wednesday 8 November sees the library team working with The Reading Agency to celebrate the release of Susan Hill’s new ghost story collection ‘The Travelling Bag’.

There will be an atmospheric live storytelling session with readings from Susan Hill’s latest work as well as other terrifying tales, plus other eerie activities including a horror-themed literary quiz with prizes awarded for the winners.

The evening is open to all ages and families are welcome, however parental guidance is advised as there will be spooky content.

Fancy dress is optional but very much encouraged and there will be prizes for the best dressed adult and the best dressed junior.

The evening starts at 6.30pm and tickets are £2 and include refreshments.

People can pay on the door or book through their library or call Dudley Library directly on 01384 815560.  Alternatively people can book online by searching for ‘Dudley Libraries’ on eventbrite.co.uk to see a list of this and other upcoming events.
