Children in Care and Care Leavers Awards 2017

The annual Children in Care and Care Leavers Awards are around the corner, taking place on Thursday November 2 at The Venue in Dudley.

The CIC Awards is an annual celebration recognising children’s personal achievements. There have been over 180 nominations submitted, recognising children who are motivated, achieving and determined.

Every child or young person in care will have had different experiences in life, and this event is designed to acknowledge how these children have made a difference to their own lives or someone else’s.

The awards recognise a child overcoming difficulties, so they know that the Corporate Parenting Board is behind them every step of the way and appreciate how much they are achieving.

Councillor Anne Millward, cabinet member for children’s services, said:

“The children and young people have been nominated by those who know them, such as social workers, teachers and carers. These are the people who will see a child make a difference first hand, and with the Children in Care Awards they have an opportunity to provide a child with the recognition they deserve and demonstrate to that child how proud we are of their progression to adulthood.”
