Dudley Town are to take on a team of Wolves Old Stars next month in a match that will raise funds for the mayor’s charities.

The match will take place at The Dell Stadium in Bryce Road, Pensnett, on Sunday November 19, kicking off at 2.30pm.

The Dudley Town team will be made up of youth team managers and coaches, with a few ex-West Bromwich Albion players performing cameo roles.

The identity of the Wolves line-up will be kept under wraps until the day but in the manager’s dugout will be ex-striker and League Cup winner Mel Eves.

Admission on the day will be £5 for adults and £3 for children or OAPs. Proceeds will be split between the children’s ward at Russells Hall Hospital and the three chosen charities of Councillor Dave Tyler, Mayor of Dudley. They are Dudley Mind, YMCA Black Country Group and Dudley Alzheimer’s Society.

Stephen Austin, chairman of Dudley Town FC, said:

“As a truly community-focused football club, we are proud to host this annual event to try and raise money for worthwhile causes.

“This year they are the mayor’s nominated charities, and the children’s ward at Russells Hall Hospital.

“It should be a great match with some recognisable faces from years gone by, and we would urge people to come along.”

Councillor Dave Tyler, Mayor of Dudley, said:

“I’m really grateful to Dudley Town for organising this event.

“The more people that turn up, the more that very worthy charities will benefit. So let’s pack the Dell out for what will be a great day.”

Tickets will be available on the day but can also be bought in advance. For further information, or to book, call Mr Austin on 07412046050.
