More than 20 classic cars will be motoring to Wordsley’s Red House Glass Cone this month (Sunday 24 September).

This is the second time The Black Country Classic Car Club will be attending the Dudley Council-run attraction to display a variety of the club member’s classic vehicles.

Vehicles set to be on display include a Maestro van (1991), Fiat 500 (1962), Ford Grenada (1983) and MGB GT (1972).

The vehicles will be stationed around the site, including the canalside area.

Members of the group will be on site to talk about their cars and answer any questions visitors may have.

The group was established in May 2003 and currently has more than 70 members. It is made up of enthusiasts and owners, who bring a wide range of vehicles and motoring knowledge to the group. The oldest vehicle in the club is a 1937 MG TD, with vehicles right up to 1992, the 25 year stipulation for any vehicle attending shows.

There will be glassblowing demonstrations from 10am – 4pm in the cone’s hot glass studio and the cone’s studios will be open for business. There is a free gnome trail around the site and the Red Cone Coffee House will be serving a range of refreshments.

Cllr Ian Kettle, cabinet member for planning and economic development said:

“Last year’s display by the Black Country Classic Car Club went down really well. Members of the group are friendly and well-informed and happy to answer any questions visitors may have about their prized vehicles.

“With the craft artist studios also open for business, a free children’s trail and glassblowing demonstrations throughout the day, this is a fun day out for all the family.”

The car club meets fortnightly meeting at The Old Swan (Ma Pardoes) in Netherton and new members are welcome. For more information or to become a member contact Neil Moore on 07752 868 717 or visit the website www.blackcountryclassiccarclub.co.uk
