Pensnett scheme

Motorists are being warned to expect delays on the A4101 High Street as temporary traffic lights go up to allow essential congestion-busting work to be carried out from May 2017. This is expected to take 12 months to complete.

As part of the ongoing High Street, Pensnett works, please be advised that Bradley Street, at its junction with High Street and Birds Meadow at its junction with High Street, will be closed from 14th August for approximately 2 weeks. The reason for the closures is utility diversion works and provision of a new water main. 

Diversion for Bradley Street will be via High Oak and High Street

Access to Birds Meadow will be via High Street and Tansey Green Road

Oldbury viaduct major renewal scheme, M5

Highways England is carrying out a major programme of work to repair and waterproof the M5 Oldbury viaduct.  Motorists in the area are warned to expect delays.

Elwell Crescent, Woodsetton at each of its junctions with Parkes Hall Road, will be closed on November 8 and 9, 9.30am – 3.30pm each day, for carriageway repairs. 

Nimmings Road, Halesowen, will be closed between Long Lane and Clement Road from October 30 to November 13. The closure is to enable Western Power to carry out work to replace an electricity sub-station. Diversions will be via Long Lane, Oldbury Road, Station Road and vice-versa. 

Jews Lane, Lower Gornal, will be shut from November 3 to November 7 for road resurfacing work. Diversions will be via Burton Road, Highland Road, Dibdale Road, Charlotte Drive, Dibdale Road West, Deepdale Lane and vice-versa.

Dogkennel Lane, Halesowen, will be closed between Grange Road and the bridge over the River Stour on November 3 between 5.30pm and 9.30pm while the Halesowen Bonfire is on. Diversions will be via Grange Road, Queensway, Laurel Lane and vice-versa, while the one-way order in Dogkennel Lane will be suspended for the duration of the closure.

Emergency closure High Street, Quarry bank. The road was closed overnight, near the junction with Park Road, due to a structure losing its roof.  It is now partially open, stop-go is in operation to be replaced by temporary traffic signals later today (Tuesday Oct 17).

Drivers are advised that they may experience congestion.  It is not known at this stage, how long the temporary signals will need to be in place for. 

A temporary lane closure has been put in place on Grange Road, Halesowen, at the junction with Manor Way. The closure, which is to allow South Staffordshire Water to repair the road following a water main burst on Grange Hill, is on both sides of the carriageway and located immediately at the splitter on the junction. It is expected to be in place until late Friday afternoon, with drivers warned to expect delays at peak times.

Russells Hall Road will be closed to traffic from the junction with Hinbrook Road to the junction with Langstone Road. The closure will be from Monday October 23 to Friday October 27 and is in order to safely facilitate drainage works connected with a new development. Diversions will be in place via Hinbrook Road and Langstone Road, and vice versa.

Brook Road, Stourbridge

Brook Road, Stourbridge, from its junction with Grange Rd for approx 30m, will be closed on Sunday 22 Oct 2017, 9.30am-3.30pm, to enable Salcey Group to carry out essential tree works.

Diversion routes as follows:-

Light traffic – Hagley Road, Ring Road, Birmingham Street, Stourbridge Road, Pedmore Road, Grange Lane and vice-versa

HGV’s (avoiding low bridge on Stourbridge Rd) Hagley Road, Ring Road, Hagley Road, Ham Lane, Grange Lane.

Access to frontages will be maintained where safe to do so.

King Street, Lye will be closed from October 23 to 25 to allow repairs to be carried out to a damaged water pipe.

Diversion route will be Belmont Road, Cross Walks Road, Crabbe Street or Belmont Road, Pearson Street, Crabbe Street.

The one way Order will be suspended to assist access to frontages.

Osmaston Road, Stourbridge, is closed to carry out essential water main repairs and renewal by Complete Utilities, on behalf of Amey, for Severn Trent Water.  It is anticipated the work will take until October 27 to complete.

Diversion route is Norton Road, Racecourse Lane, Fairways Avenue and vice-versa.
