Household waste recycling centre (Council tip)

Dudley Council has a household waste recycling centre situated off Birmingham Street (A458) at Stourbridge. The site is situated through a car park complex approximately 100 metres along the A458 from the Stourbridge Ring Road (DY8 1JE).

Please note that site use will be restricted to Dudley residents only who wish to dispose of their household waste.

Height barriers

Height barriers are in operation at the site. The height barrier is set at 6'-6" (1.98 metres) at the entrance to the car park complex. Any vehicles above 6ft 6" will need to make an appointment.

Please note that the use of small trailers (maximum of 1.8 metres) will only be allowed at this site by prior appointment as outlined below.

Vehicles over 18 foot (3.3 metres) are prohibited from using the site and will not be allowed to tip.

Opening times

Summer: 1 April to 30 September:

  • Monday to Friday: 8am - 8pm

  • Saturday and Sunday: 8am - 4pm

 Winter: 1 October to 31 March

  • Monday to Friday: 8am - 6pm

  • Saturday and Sunday: 8am - 4pm

Closed dates

The centre is closed on the following days:

  • 1 January

  • 25 December

  • 26 December

How to make an appointment

Appointments are available at the following times:

  • Large vehicles above 6ft 6" in height, but less than 18 feet in length: All day Wednesday

  • Small trailers (maximum of 1.8 metres): Appointments are restricted to Mondays, Thursday afternoon, and Tuesday mornings

  • Trailer access will not be allowed at other times

To arrange an appointment please contact us using the details at the bottom of the page. Appointment must be made by 4pm on the preceding working day. Please note that the facility for appointments for small trailers or oversize vehicles will be available to Dudley residents only. Note also Trade, Commercial or Business waste will no longer be accepted.

Commercial Waste (trade waste)

Commercial waste is not accepted at this site.

Recycling facilities

This site is a major recycling centre with facilities for recycling the following materials in addition to the deposit of general house/garden wastes:

  • Paper

  • Cardboard (please remove any Polystyrene or plastic wrapping)

  • Food and drinks cans

  • Plastic bottles

  • Timber (including MDF, LDF, HDF, chipboard and laminated boards)

  • Green Organic garden waste (For composting)

  • Bricks, concrete, rubble & ceramics

  • Scrap metal

  • Car and household batteries

  • Used engine oil

  • Cooking oil

  • Textiles

  • Shoes

  • Books

  • Fridges and freezers

  • Small electrical items (if disposing of computers please ensure that you safeguard your personal information)

  • Large electrical items (including old cookers and washing machines)

  • Fluorescent tubes & energy saving light bulbs

  • TVs and monitors 

Anchor Lane Household Waste Recycling Centre

Dudley residents living in the North of the borough are able to use the Anchor lane recycling site.  

  • Monday: 10am to 6pm

  • Tuesday and Wednesday: closed

  • Thursday and Friday: 10am to 6pm

  • Saturday and Sunday: 8am to 4.30pm

Dudley has about 50 publicly accessible recycling centres across the borough where you can take your recycling. Some are located at convenient street side points, others are in supermarket car parks.

To minimise traffic congestion at the site it would be appreciated if users would segregate their waste into the suitable categories prior to visiting the site.
