Surrender Vehicles

Got an old banger beyond repair?

Is there a abandoned vehicle in your road, one that has been there for some time, has it got flat tyres, no tax, in a poor condition, is it an eyesore, is it being vandalised. Last year more than 2000 cars were reported as abandoned in the Dudley Metropolitan area. If you’ve got an old car/MOT failure that you want to dispose of, Dudley Council will collect and dispose of it free of charge.

Surrendered Vehicle Scheme

We will remove and dispose of an unwanted vehicle free of charge as long as the vehicle is located in the borough, and the owner is a resident of the borough. The registered owner will need to complete a surrendered vehicle form.

What we would ask of you

  • Please do not abandon your vehicle.
  • Please ensure that the vehicle can be accessed at all times, e.g. not in a garage or locked area. We do not require the keys to the vehicle.
  • Please make sure that all personal property and items you wish to keep are removed at the time the application is sent to us.

How do you surrender a vehicle?

You can apply by any of the following means:

  • Complete the Removal & Disposal of Unwanted Vehicle Request form, which is available at the bottom of this page.

Once you have completed the form, please use this link to upload the completed form and to make payment.

  • Please use the contact details below to request the surrender form to be sent to you. You will need to give us your name, address and details of the Vehicle.
